: MY CHOSEN PHOTOGRAPHERS :

:: Cindy Sherman ::

:: When I was shown a few examples of Cindy Shermans work I was not all that bothered. So I looked online myself finding quite a range of interesting themes and ideas portrayed in her work, themes of nudity, exposure of the naked body in various ways. themes I would involve personally in my art. I think what is significant about her work for is the way she places and exposes female nudity in her work thats very different and raw, that puts an emphasis on the female body ::

:: Robert Mapplethorpe ::

:: I don't favor much of this guys work as I find its really very explicit and not all to my taste but there was some photos that I really admired, very simplistic composition using simplistic forms and shapes. I love the use of black and white in the photos that really stand out something quite beautiful ::

:: Francesca Woodman ::

:: I really like the simplistic compositions forms and settings used in this artists work, I like the use of black and white photography that strikes out certain forms. I think what makes certain artists work significant is how they place things in there photos ::

: FINE ART ARTISTS :

: louise Bourgeois :

:: I particularly like this artists work mainly her drawings which I find very bold and simple. I like the ideas and themes in her work that are quite explicit, but she does this in an abstract way witch is creative and creates more to see. Especially with this piece she has left it pretty vague, leaving it really to the imagination ::

:: Rebecca Horn ::

:: I really admire some of the work used by this artist, I like the shapes used on the physical form, that creates something bizarre. This shape used on this physical form I have seen before in a Marilyn Manson music video and always admired it. I like how simplistic her work is creating a very minimal atmosphere with a striking composition with only the use of one or two colors, paying attention to the subject of the piece ::

:: Alejandro Guijarro ::

:: This is one of my favourite pieces from a magazine article by photographer Alejandro Guijarro. I was drawn too this piece because I liked the simplicity with abstract shapes that are hard to understand why they are there or what they represent. I particularly love the vibrant contrasts of the black and white, the simple black background that stands out a more detailed illustrative drawing. I really found his choice of subject to photograph really interesting as at first I thought that they were pieces of art that have been carefully composed with simple mediums used. But instead this photographer goes to collage institutions taking pictures of there blackboards ::

:: Alejandro Guijarro work is quite different altogether using photography to record the blackboards that he finds that are specifically to do with quantum mechanics, probably because of the content involved that can be very complicated leading to lots of different shapes and symbols that to most people are not understandable. Visiting lots of different collages around the world. His work is often quite questionable weather it is a real blackboard of a piece of art. Though he says " the main concern of my work is questioning the relationship between photography and reality " The artist is aware of the decrease in blackboards that they are pictures of someone's minds mainly the professors. I agree with this that with a blackboard there is a physical relationship between the person drawing/writing with the chalk and the board. to communicate visually you need space and that is what the board is there for ::

:: With this piece I find it not to much to my taste, although I do find it visually pleasing, I like the compositions and how everything has been done naturally in someone's own head to create a subconscious display of overlaid abstract forms. For a piece of art its a little to busy and complicated for my liking but I do like the thinking process that comes with this piece when you look at it that makes it more exciting ::

: Norma Bar :

: I really like the work that artist Norma Bar produces, particularly this piece as I have created imagery a lot similar to this using illustration. I love the simplicity and the idea of combining text with the piece with simple contrasting colours that make the image stand out. I also love the composition of colours that fill most of the space. I like the fact that there is a meaning behind this piece and other pieces that the artists has created ::

:: Sara Fanelli ::

:: I particularly liked this artists work as I like the the collage and illustration aspect to it. I particularly like this piece as I like the random feel to it, that the text is not written perfectly. I like the feel of the text being with the image, either adding to it or explaining it and that it has been placed in a simple page of images that is not so busy meaning the words are as important as the image ::

:: I have enjoyed exploring 2D design and how it is used and seen wherever we go, as being interested in illustration I have defiantly been inspired by some of the artists that I have discovered that it could perhaps improve or help me to create new symbolism.I have especially enjoyed working with collage on a small scale working with existing images and its something I would be keen on developing as I can really make it my own. I find illustration the most interesting as I feel I can really use my imagination ::

: MY PERSONAL RESPONSE TO NORA FOK :

:: Nora Fok ::

:: delicate simplistic designs, very eye catching mature forms ::

:: Nora Fok is a fashion designer creating her designs from nylon that are very minimal and simplistic forming delicate, intricate compositions of sheets of white into bizarre abstract shapes that strangely fit onto the body, but its because of these shapes that makes her work a little more original and exciting compare to others. I personally admire her work as I like the simplicity of it using colors of black and white that give her work that disturbing effect. From the colors and visuality of her creations I have also used this in my 3d structure that bodies something very visually appealing. Her work can be seen as both artworks and fashion pieces that both are visually appealing in both, though the fashion pieces obviously sets more of a purpose ::

:: Like Nora's work I have created something very simplistic with minimal color, though I have used paper creating something that is for display purposes only. Because of its minimal color I created more than one, testing colors and sizes that add a striking effect against one another. Sticking to the theme of connection I have related my structure to the similar form of a tubular object that symbolizes intercourse  ::

:: my 3d creations ::

:: Carlos n Molina ::

:: Unlike Nora Fok, Carlos creates very complex style structures using bright colors with paper and card adding additional patterns that give it a very contrasted and vibrant effect. Though like the visually quality or Nora the shapes and forms used are very original consisting of patterns that are quite abstract and simple. The use of the bright colors and the abstract of the shapes suggest a fantasy element to his designs, such as the ladies dress resembling a cloud. Where as with Nora I feel the shapes involved in her work can easily represent natural or manmade forms ::
